It Hurts to Be in Love

Gene Pitney died today (4/5) in the U.K. while on tour. He was 65.

In addition to his talents as a singer, he was also a songwriter, having penned "Hello, Mary Lou," "Rubber Ball," and "He's a Rebel," among others.

Of interesting note in Pitney's career was the album of duets he did with George Jones (yes, that George Jones). While the notion might sound odd, the performances were NOT.

Farewell, Gene. We'll miss you, and we'll cry a little bit, oh we'll cry a little bit.
